Makini grabs Ono and flees to safety, ignoring his protests that they don't even know if there is a threat. Reirei then changes strategy, and the jackals begin to pelt the pair with the curled-up forms of the pangolins. When the Lion Guard arrives at Hakuna Matata Falls, they see animals lined up to meet Bunga, who has proclaimed himself to be a sage. Eventually, Anga and Ono find Hadithi surrounded by his adoring fans. With a proud Kion in the lead, the herds set out, and "A Trail to Hope" plays as the combined herds follow the Lion Guard through the Pride Lands. The five return to Pride Rock, where Kiara reveals that there's been an invasion of baboons. The Lion Guard rushes to stop Bupu's herd and Laini and her galagos from stampeding. Irritated by the false alarm, the Guard proceeds to free the hyrax, who is soon swallowed by Ushari. The rest of the Lion Guard approaches and affirms that they are all right, including Ono, who arrives with his crest feathers gone. While paddling the river, Bunga explains to Ono the danger that Kion is in, and Ono agrees to help the team. Ono and the Lion Guard continues on their patrol, and they save Laini and two other galagos who are trapped in a tree. The Night Pride takes on Makucha and his allies, defeating them easily, as they do not work well together. Kion calls to Ono, who can see from overhead, and he helps the Lion Guard chase off Janja and his minions, who had started the stampede. The rest of the Lion Guard arrives, impressed, but no sooner have they abated the danger when three galagos cry out for help. After the fight, Bunga compliments Kion for his good leadership skills, and Nirmala agrees, adding that Kion's healing is complete. In the midst of the proceedings, Beshte rushes up to his friends and reports that Janja has been spotted on a ledge overlooking a herd of zebras in the Pride Lands. However, the event soon gets out of hand, for the animals trip over the galagos and end up in a heap. Fearing a betrayal, he alerts the rest of the Guard, who are thus not caught entirely off guard by Makucha's attack. However, the rest of the team arrives just in time to fend off the vultures, and Kion uses his roar to ensure that they are not delayed again. She sends Madoa to warn Ono and the Lion Guard, while she and the rest of the clan intercept Janja's clan. Presently, the Lion Guard finds themselves plagued by tsetse flies. Frustrated, Kion orders Bupu the sable antelope to be patient with the elephants until the Lion Guard can come up with another solution. In the meantime, Makucha, Chuluun, and Ora sneak over the border. Impressed by Kion's humility and moved by her grandmother Janna's counsel, Rani allows the entire Guard to continue on. However, he boldly declares that they can still try the Hadithi Spin and calls for Hadithi to follow him. Upon the guard's first encounter with Chuluun, Ono is able to identify her as a snow leopard.
